"Through this project, I explore the characteristics of expired SX-70 and Fujifilm 110 instant film by experimenting with movement, changes in temperature, and the dependency of the film itself.  Inspired by the ways of Lucas Samaras’ Polaroid “Photo-Transformations” (1973), I similarly produce forcible movement of the ink as the exposure of the developing photograph progresses.  In addition to shifting the ink in the image, some images have been dissected and manually altered by the addition of glue and paint before piecing the images back to their seemingly original status.  The abstractions resulted from my process are intended to stimulate viewers’ senses and curiosity. I hope viewers can explore their imagination while configuring each image as I have while producing them."
